What is MONEY2069?
Money2069 is a research project about money losing value. We track what currencies actually do over time, we publish the numbers, and we fund people building money that holds its value better. The name is the deadline we set ourselves. This takes decades, so we picked 2069.
The work has three parts. We run indices that price real things, like a basket of commodities or a Big Mac, in different currencies. We rate money projects on a published framework and keep a map of who is building what. And we run the Fair Money Fund, which holds the protocol liquidity and backs the projects that rate well.
Everything we publish is checkable. The data comes from a public API that anyone can call. The contracts, the liquidity and the fund positions are all on-chain and listed on the site.
Why it matters
Most people never see what their currency did to them. The number in the bank account stays the same, so the loss stays invisible. It turns up later as higher prices, and by then it looks like a shopping problem rather than a money problem.
We put the number in front of people. If you can see that your currency bought 40% less over ten years, you can decide what to do about it. That is the whole reason we publish the data.
The second reason is that better money is being built right now, in public. Stablecoins, commodity-backed units, mutual credit systems. Some designs will hold up better than others, and someone has to measure that. Money is now a design competition. We rate the designs.
Key features
- Live indices that price commodities, metals and everyday goods in any major currency.
- A world currency tracker covering the biggest currencies by money supply, with inflation and money-supply history.
- The M69 score, a published framework for rating money projects, with the reasoning shown next to every rating.
- The Fair Money Fund, which holds protocol-owned liquidity and backs projects that rate well.
- A public API with no keys and no paywall. It is the same data the site runs on.
- Every contract address and launch transaction listed in the docs.
Token utility
M69 pays for the work. There was no presale, no team allocation and no venture round. All 2.069 trillion M69 went into public liquidity pools at launch, and that liquidity became the first asset of the Fair Money Fund.
Trading fees in the official pools, 2% and above, flow back into the fund. The fund is what backs the projects we rate well and pays for the research. So the token is the funding mechanism, and the pools behind it are public and checkable.
The plan is to move the protocol-owned liquidity into a community-controlled multisig as the contributor base grows.
Ecosystem notes
We publish a map of the people and projects working on money. Profiles, ratings and links, and it grows every week from a research pipeline we run.
M69 is deployed on Ethereum, Base, Solana, Gnosis and Robinhood Chain, with protocol-owned liquidity on the major chains. Official pools include M69/ETH, M69/USDC, M69/SOL and M69/WXDAI.

Risks / considerations
M69 trades in a small market. The price moves a lot and volume can be thin. Anyone buying should expect that. There is no company behind Money2069. No legal entity, no signed guarantee, no support desk. It is a group of people publishing work in public.
The research is our own reading of public data. We show the sources and the method so you can check it. None of it is financial advice and none of it is a recommendation to buy anything.
Most of the supply sits in liquidity pools and the fund. That is visible on-chain, and it does mean a small number of addresses hold a large share. That is normal for protocol-owned liquidity and worth knowing before you read the holder charts.
The token is bridged across five chains, so bridge risk applies like it does anywhere else.
Asset FAQ
Is M69 an investment?
No. It funds the research and it trades on open markets. We do not promise returns and we do not give financial advice.
Who runs Money2069?
Contributors, not a company. There is no legal entity. The work and the money are both public.
Where did the fund's money come from?
From the liquidity deposited at launch and the trading fees it has earned since. There was no raise and no allocation to a team.
Why 2069?
It is the deadline we set ourselves. Changing what the world uses as money takes decades, so we picked a date far enough out to be honest about it.
Can I use your data?
Yes. The API is public and needs no key. Keep to about a request a second and link back to money2069.org.
